Hey Beauties!! Can you believe it’s now a new decade?! I hope you all had an amazing christmas and new years eve whatever you all got upto!!

It dawned on me just how crazy this last decade has been for me so I thought I’d reflect a little and share what I’ve overcome.

In december 2009 I collapsed and when I woke up I couldn’t walk, I’d lost most of the feeling from the neck down. Sent home from hospital as there was no beds left after only a few hours I was told “24 Hours and you’ll be fine”. Little did I know how much my life was about to change. The following night again I was rushed back in after the same thing happening and again sent home saying give it another 24 hours.

5 days later when I was no better and seemingly getting weaker as the days went by, a vist to my gp landed me being admitted to hospital where I spent 10 nights having every test under the sun only to be told “I’m sorry but you’re what we call a ‘grey area’ meaning we don’t know whats wrong” and again was sent home being told I’d never walk again and I’d just have to “learn to accept it”.

Let’s fastforward 10 years to today. I have been through intense neuro physiotherapy, had umpteenth surgeries ranging from throat, stomach, brain.. yet here I am WALKING. I never gave up!! I still need my wheelchair on the harder days as I get very weak and painfull still, but I proved every Dr wrong.

2019 not only marked a decade from falling ill, but it also marked 20 years since I defied odds and lived through a medical discovery being the first girl (or female in general) to have a bladda stone (I’ll write a more in depth post about this at some point if it’s something you’d be interested in!).

My favourite quote of 2019!!

If anything this past decade has taught me how strong I really am. I’ve had heartbreak, painfull treatments, found my soulmate and married him, gained 2 beautiful children and continued to defy the odds that keep coming against me.

In 2019 I finally gained the courage to start this blog and share my life journey’s with all of you to raise awareness of invisible illnesses adding in my passion for makeup. I hope the next decade will be a little easier on me but if it’s not, this girl aint ready to quit just yet!!!

I hope you all have an amazing 2020, I can’t thank you enough for sticking around and reading my babbling!! What are your biggest achievements from the past decade?? Let me know in the comments!!
