Hey Beauties, welcome back to another episode of Cuppa&Chat. It’s been a while and with all the madness that’s going on in this world right now we need some positivity!!
This week we have Leo from The Anxious Teacher Blog listing some of her favourite positive quotes to help put us all in a better mood!! Hope you enjoy.
Favourite Quotes | How to stay positive during coronavirus lockdown
Like so many other vulnerable across the country, and even the world, I am about to start my third week of zero face-to-face contact during the coronavirus lockdown. And suffice to say, it hasn’t been easy, I am typically an introvert and very much like spending time in my own company and can easily keep myself occupied. But now? I am desperate to get out.
Why? What’s so different?
The key difference for me is my free will, to be able to have a choice in how I live and spend my time, especially with having borderline personality disorder I need control, like serious control and routine. Having this abruptly ripped away has seriously knocked my mindset and positivity for six and halfway through this second week, I reached rock bottom. I was miserable, I was sick with worry and anxiety and even the thought of going into the back garden left me terrified.
Safe to say my mental health was in serious decline and I genuinely feared going into my black hole of despair, a place I just did not want to be in. So after watching Hannah Montana (yes I’ve been watching HM on Disney+ don’t judge me!) I realised that the only person who could change my mindset and to focus on the positives – the fact I’m still alive and luckily that no one in my immediate family has caught the coronavirus and that I’m still earning money through the furlough scheme – is myself. To look forward to the future, to not allow my Mental Health to become a victim of COVID-19. That I can have control.
And something that I’ve been doing is that I’ve been reading and quoting some of my favourite philosophers, authors, historical figures and film and television characters – quotes that represent joy and fill you with happiness, something that we all need in during this period of uncertainty.
So what I’m going to do is to give you 10 of my favourite quotes which I hope will bring some joy and positivity for you and your loved ones during this time.
Stephen King: “You can, you should, and if you’re brave enough to start, you will.”
Oprah Winfrey: “The greatest discovery of all time is that a person can change his future by merely changing his attitude.”
Aristotle: “Happiness is a quality of the soul … not a function of one’s material circumstances”
Kobe Bryant: “The most important thing is to try and inspire people so that they can be great in whatever they want to do.”
Justin Bieber: “I’m looking forward to influencing others in a positive way. My message is you can do anything if you just put your mind to it.”
Ke$ha: “I believe in karma, and I believe if you put out positive vibes to everybody, that’s all you’re going to get back.”
Taylor Swift: “No matter what happens in life, be good to people. Being good to people is a wonderful legacy to leave behind.”
Olaf, Frozen: “Love is putting someone else’s needs before yours.”
Aurora, Sleeping Beauty: “If you dream a thing more than once, it’s sure to come true.”
Anne Frank: “Whoever is happy will make others happy too.”
I absolutely loved these quotes from Leo!! Which one was your favourite, do you have any fave’s that aren’t on here?? Let me know in the comments. I hope you’re all well!!
